The Anti- Counterfeiting Trade Agreement is an international treaty being negotiated currently it has not garnered as much attention as the SOPA and PIPA bills but has the potential to become just as sinister. The negotiations for this treaty have been around since 2007 at the latest. According to the EFF there was an alarming lack of public information about the negotiations and the contents of the treaty itself. Not until recently has the ACTA treaty gone public strange since it has been in negotiations for so long. Many countries have shown their support for this treaty already; however due to the mass protest and rejection of the SOPA and PIPA bills in the U.S. the anti-ACTA movement has gained momentum.
